Standin is a consent-first face-swap video tool. The product is built around a single rule: the only faces that should appear in a render are faces the uploader has a right to use. This page documents exactly what we enforce, how we enforce it, and how to report something we missed.
Before Standin accepts a web upload, the secure guest actor must explicitly acknowledge the current consent version for the bound Action Hero flow. The Telegram interface uses its own explicit consent gate. You confirm that you own or have permission to use every photo, scene, video, and likeness in the render. Uploading someone else's face without permission is a direct violation of our Terms.
Standin is for adults. The service is 18+, full stop. We do not accept images of minors in any context. An explicit age acknowledgement and automated facial-age safety check work together to enforce this; the website does not require an account sign-up before previewing.
You may not use Standin to create or distribute content that involves:
Violations can result in an immediate, no-refund ban and, where appropriate, a report to law enforcement.
Every upload passes an automated safety check that screens for the categories above. The stack includes:
Account-level enforcement (refuse, remove, limit, or ban) is reviewed by a human before it is applied. Reports filed through the channel below are read by a person, not just a model.
The free website preview carries a visible Standin watermark. Before signed Stripe confirmation, the clean master remains private and inaccessible to the browser. If a website unlock offer is configured, a confirmed purchase can unlock only that exact clean result for the purchasing web actor. A watermark supports transparency, but never replaces explicit consent, content screening, or the prohibitions against deception and abuse.
If you believe a Standin render involves you (or someone you have authority for) without consent, or violates this policy in any other way, report it. We will:
How to report: message @standinmebot from the account involved (so we can locate the render) or from any account, with: a link to the render, what the issue is, and how to reach you. For urgent or legally significant reports, include the word URGENT in the first message — those are triaged first.
Unpaid website previews and paid results use separate deployment-configured retention periods, with the applicable deadline displayed beside the result. The web result flow provides a deletion control while media remains available. Order, consent, and safe operational records can outlive media cleanup under separate retention settings. See our Privacy Policy.
We respond to verified requests from security researchers, journalists, and platform trust & safety teams on the channel above. If you are evaluating Standin for a directory, an app review, or a story, message first — we will share the full safety stack and a working render demo.
